Community Work
In 2020, I founded Creato, a grassroots collective aimed to spotlight, connect and support Latin American artists across Canada. Since it’s inception, we’ve built a team of volunteers that has helped organize artist markets, mentorship programs, exhibitions and community events that highlight diverse creative voices.
Through this initiative, I’ve developed so many new skills and experience in leadership, cultural advocacy, navigating Toronto’s Art ecosystem, grant writing, fundraising, and cross-cultural programming. All while using my design and marketing expertise to grow and evolve this project.
I love finding that sweet spot where great design meets meaningful impact, and I'm always looking for ways to help emerging artists find new opportunities and creative youth navigate their path.
Workshops and Speaking
I'm passionate about sharing what I've learned with the next generation of creatives. Whether it's navigating the industry, building your portfolio, or understanding how to leverage social media as an artist, I love connecting with emerging talent and helping them find their path.
I'm available for workshops, talks, and mentorship sessions for youth programs, design schools, arts organizations, and creative communities. My approach is practical and honest. I share real industry insights, actionable advice, and the lessons I wish someone had told me when I was starting out.
Some of my experiences include:
OCAD University Guest speaker for high school students exploring creative careers.
Project Crea (Creato) Co-facilitated a workshop about sharing your work and building your network for emerging Latin American artists in our mentorship program.
ECRU Guest speaker for "Ask an Art Director" series, demystifying industry knowledge around hiring practices, pay, and freelancing.
Drop me a line at martinez.fiorella@gmail.com if you’re interested in having me speak or facilitate a workshop. I'd love to hear about your program and how I can help your community thrive.
